Yep that’s similar to what happened to us! The doctor originally gave her a prescription for something else because they didn’t think it was eczema and then once they suspected that’s what it was, they gave her the steroid cream. Once we went to the dermatologist though, they finally were able to give us something that healed it.
From there it was taking preventative measures so it doesn’t flare up, (or if it does, that it doesn’t ever get that bad again!).
I hope the dermatologist can give you answers!

I was referred to a dermatologist because the ointment actually made it worse. It seems like nothing is working for my little one. She is also biracial with light patches on the skin followed by red bumps. The doctor thinks it’s eczema but wants to be sure. I am so worried because I’ve tried literally EVERYTHING. I’m just hoping I can get the answers I need.

Hi, That’s a great question.

They didn’t give her a prescription for that. Once I stopped using the steroid cream, the color eventually came back on its own. Now you can’t even see a mark at all in that area.
