Inside: The best curl creams for hydrated, defined mixed curly hair without the frizz.
When you’re searching for the best products for biracial hair, it can be overwhelming trying to figure out which ones you should choose.
One of the products you’ll probably come across are curl creams.
You may be wondering, what do curl creams do?
Curl creams give your hair definition and moisture, without the wet/and or crunchy look that you get when you use gel.
That being said, the definition you get from curl creams is softer than with gels.
Curl creams can be great for all types of curls (fine texture, coarse texture) but you need to choose one suited for your child’s curl type, (otherwise you could end up with build up and/or limp curls).
As with most curly hair products, it can take some experimenting to find the right ratio of curl cream for your child’s hair and figuring out how to combine them with your other hair products.
The way we use curl cream now is different than when my kids were younger.
When my kids were little, I would only use leave in conditioner and curl cream for added moisture and definition.
Now If I’m leaving my daughters hair down, (after I detangle her hair and while it’s still wet) I start by putting in some leave in, then curl cream, and finally gel.
If I’m putting it a protective hairstyle, I’ll put in leave in, curl cream, and edge control.
Curl creams are a great product to add to your child’s hair care routine!
